Yes, I am not bragging, just elaborating on my amazing dinner date with my sister at Shakespeare and Co. Dates sound cheesy but it was indeed one, we were having our time after very long.
Well, moving forward to my dinner experience, this was an invite to try out their menu and service. Before I talk about all the fancy yumzies we enjoyed, I have to mention their Victorian style decor is fabulous. Taking you back to the Shakespearean plays, each store is unique in terms of colours, décor and layout that differentiate them from “cookie cutter” concepts. What sets them apart from their competition is every fixture and furniture that is crafted by in-house designers. I absolutely fall in love with the interiors each time I visit.
As a tradition, the bread basket with garlic butter was brought to our table while we picked our choices:
Piri Piri Prawns
Traditional Fish & Chips
Shakespeare Classic Chicken
Fondant Au Chocolat
Drinks is what came in first and we were delighted as it was quite warm outside. They were good if not perfect. Needed more sweetness I suppose.
Where the Shakespeare Classic Chicken - their signature dish is a total must try with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce; the Traditional Fish & Chips could be a choice if you don't want to experiment. There are many foodies who often are on a look out for fish and chips, this is one of the rare places people! Dip that fish fillet in the tartar sauce and go to the seafood heaven.
Pâte à choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce with shaved almonds is the key to happiness - in short the yummy Profiteroles. (Though the ice cream could have been a bit soft)
As if all this wasn't enough, we were insisted upon trying their hot drinks and each of them is caffeineicious.
On a regular day, you would pay QR 200 for 2 persons (not the above order).
I would give it 4.5 out of 5. (I took the 0.5 only for my little comments)
