Nonetheless, there are a few that remain my favourite but not as authentic. The only place so far that has come close to being original is Zaoq located at Salwa Road which is bubbling with people and never disappoints with their food. The restaurant sign says it's Pakistani but has a lot of Indian/mughlai touches. I would say it's a mix between the two countries.
I'm usually put off when there is an issue with the service but again the food is 5/5 and that brings me back each time - you know how sometimes food is above all other aspects!
We are a fan of the sonehri chaap (chops), and in addition to that we ordered,
Mixed platter (including chaap)
Kalaunji and Garlic naan
The mixed green salad was fresh cut cucumbers, carrots and lettuce with a very refreshing dressing and devoured it completely.
A Huge letdown!
I discussed this with a few friends and seemed to get mixed opinions but all said that they would rather not pay a higher price if they can get the same product quality in another branch with a significant difference.
What do you think, would you pay more for a mall location, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Anyway, we paid QR 200 for 2 persons (which in the other branch would be ~ QR 140).
I would give it 3 out of 5 (only for the food - without a doubt, 5/5)
1. Merch Building, MID MAC Roundabout, Salwa Road
2. Ground Floor, Ezdan Mall
