The bread basket was freshly baked warm bread straight out of the oven to our table with butter. I absolutely loved the assorted breads.
Entrees: QR 45 - 65 each
Prawns Ceviche - as the name suggests, it was king prawns marinated in lemon, onion, chili and olive oil. H and L ordered this but I forgot to mention to them that this would be raw. Though I would have liked the server to inform them in advance as we are not raw meat lovers. But, I have to say the dish was amazing if you like your meat served raw, I specially loved the marination it was served in.
Salmon Tartare (my order) - was a beautiful mix with coriander and tomato dressing and a very good portion, I could finish only half of it as I wanted to save my appetite for the mains and desserts :-)
Alaskan Crab - This was the only entree that was cooked but both H and L don't like crab! This was the best starter in my opinion with wasabi mayonnaise.
each dish was served with their signature rice, assorted grilled vegetables, lemon and onion rings.
Rock Lobster: served with basil sauce was just okay and felt dry and overcooked as told to me by M and L.. I had a taste too and had the same feedback - not a great one!
Tiger Prawns (my order): I loved the prawns. They tasted amazingly delish with chili sauce and it was a great portion. Even though I was stuffed, I finished the entire dish for the love of prawns :-P
Hammour Fillet: this was a very average dish. Even though it was packed with wild mushroom in a rosemary jus and saffron reduction, there was something really lacking in the flavor. The portion size again was good but wasn't a great dish at all.
We waited at least 15 minutes before we were served the sweet finale. Stevan did inform us that something went wrong with my dessert and they prepared it again but 15 minutes was a long time still!
Brioche: a classic french dish stuffed with custard and scented with orange blossom was delicious for M but I thought it was just fine.
Chocolate and Orange Parfait: This was a winner for the evening. We ordered two of these and it was swooped off the plate in seconds. Loved it absolutely with spices reduction.
Warm Dates Tart (my order); this was a disaster of a sweet dish. I had just one taste and sent the dish back as is.It was served with almond ice cream that tasted more like a sorbet. Highly not recommend!
I would give it 2 out of 5.
