Isn’t that a cute olive oil dispenser?
Shanklish and the artichokes that was part of the new menu were two of the other appetizers. While we loved the Shanklish which is dried aged cheese crumble with onion, parsley and tomato, the artichoke wasn’t as big a highlight. Although, the presentation for the artichokes was appreciable.
The Batata Harra and Meat Arayes was exactly how they should be - flavorsome and the portion was great for the potatoes and definitely I could do with more arayes. The Beurek Jebneh did taste cheesy but I didn't think it was justified at QR 14 per piece.
I chose to stick to the cuisine for the evening and ordered the Osmaliyah which was delectable in its entirety. The portion is so huge and cannot be finished by one, not even by a dessert lover like me. Think clotted cream infused with rose water (ashta or kashta) sandwiched between Vermicelli pastry that is stylishly wrapped with white cotton candy and finished with a good drizzle of sugar syrup. Yes it was all of that and toothsome for any sweet lover.
On a regular day, you would pay QR 300 for 2 persons. Good for a meal at the Pearl and a gorgeous location, don’t you think?
I would give it a 3.75 out of 5.
